THINKING BACK

There were many times throughout my studies where I looked back at projects I managed previously and realized how the knowledge I was collecting would have helped me. I am excited to move forward and put my training and experience into practice into projects that I manage in the future.
I am so grateful for coming by PMCampus.com for getting me on track to successfully pass my PMP exam. I went through the material over and over again to ensure I had a firm understanding of the concepts that were presented – and it all paid off.
Thinking back has helped me to look forward and put into practice the information that I learned during my studies. I often had “aha” moments throughout my studies where I thought of how I could have things better on past projects, making me excited for my next opportunity to manage a successful project.
PMP EXPIRATION

Having been placed on very high profile projects within the company, I was always heads down and focused on making sure I was going above and beyond the call of duty. Before I knew it, years had passed with my PMP certification about to expire within the next few months. Having gone through the pressure of studying and passing the exam, I was not about to let my certification lapse.
I sought out the fastest way to maintain my PMP status and found “PMCAMPUS”. Upon review of what they had to offer I thought, this is just what I need. “PMCAMPUS” was a life saver! The classes were easy to understand and I was able to take them at my own pace. Since time was of the essence, I was on the “fast track” to get all the classes done and tests completed. Upon satisfactory completion I was able to submit the details to PMI and get my PMP certification renewed with no issues. I am so happy I found “PMCAMPUS”.
MASTERS VS PMP

I had put off getting my PMP for years while I was working on my masters degree. My thinking was, if I have my MBA, I won’t need my PMP. Wrong! I graduated with my masters and other than a couple of attaboys, nothing happened. Careful not to convey the wrong impression, I would insert into conversation that I: “just got my MBA” or “my MBA training will help with that” or “I can take that project on now that I had my MBA”. I was, frankly, disappointed.
5 months later I passed the PMP exam and my career took off immediately. The PMP certification opened doors for me that had been closed.
In the several years since getting my PMP, the certification has become not only a nice-to-have, but a requirement for continuing employment with many of my employers. I’ve been in the position to hire new project managers and have generally bypassed candidates without PMPs.
So, in sum, the PMP certification has changed my career and my life!
PMP & PDU TRACKING

Once I passed my PMP exam, after the well deserved celebration, I decided to start from day 1 to ensure that I would never lose my certification. I created a spreadsheet to keep track of my PM experience and my PDUs that I would accumulate toward my PMP renewal. Since I am a PMI member, I was able to access webinars that are good for PDUs. PMCampus also has affordable courses and bundles that enabled me to earn PDUs painlessly.
I am sure to enter my PDU activities in the spreadsheet as I complete them, then I will periodically (a couple of times a year, usually when turning the clocks back or forward) I enter my PDU experience into PMI’s certification website. This tracking process works well for me, because it is harder to remember and correctly document work experience the further in the past it becomes.
